Moin Moin Freunde der harten Musik! Heute erschien das neue Album „VAMP“ von Magnolia Park. Und scheiße ist das mal geiler Stoff um euch Alpträume im positiven Sinne zu beschaffen. Brutaler Metalcore trifft auf Punk und HipHop. Muss man nicht versuchen zu verstehen, sollte man aber absolut genießen und sich mal auf das Experiment einlassen. Aber was genau das Quintett aus Orlando dort gezaubert hat gucken wir uns mal an.

Schmerz lässt grüßen

„PAIN“ ist der erste Track und ballert euch gleich die volle Breitseite an hartem Metal um die Ohren, in einer entspannteren Variante des Metalcore. Das was auf jeden Fall nicht schmerzen wird, werden eure Ohren. Denn neben gekonnten Vocals ist das Zusammenspiel der Instrumente echt gut gelungen. „SHADOW TALK“ geht das ganze ein wenig ruhiger an, wenn man bei dieser Band noch von Ruhig sprechen kann. Aber im Verhältnis stimmt das dann schon. Und auch „CULT“ fügt sich nahtlos in das Gesamtfeuerwerk ein, das euch da um die Ohren fliegt. Bei „THE SCREAMS“ hört ihr nicht etwa einfach nur screams, sondern es geht rein von den lyrics her um Schreie. Musikalisch vielleicht etwas ruhiger und weniger core als noch zum Anfang des Albums. Aber absolut passend.

„WORSHIP feat. Plvtinum and Vana“

Klingt wie ein Verbrechen an allem was irgendwie mit Grammatik zu tun hat. Und arbeitet mit Verzerrungen, ruhigeren Metal, und erinnert entfernt an die modernen Pop-Songs während es unter der seltsam verschwommenen Schale noch Metal vom feinsten bleibt. Auch „SHALLOW“ schließt sich dem Stil an und fügt somit wie ein weiteres Puzzle-Teil ein weiteres Bild ins Mosaik des Albums. Richtig geil wird es dann mit „OMEN“ einem Track der mein persönliches Highlight beim Hören war, und auch in Zukunft gerne gehört wird. Düster, Metal, geile Vocals und elektronische Elemente welche die schon geilen Instrumente noch gekonnt unterstützten. „WASTED“ und „CRAVE feat. PINKNOISE“ bereiten dann so langsam das Ende der Platte vor, und zeigen noch einmal deutlich auf das Magnolia Park zurecht hoch gehandelt werden. Und als Finale dann „REASONS“ als düsterer Wegbereiter für „OPHELIA„.

Fazit:

Magnolia Park ist einfach eine geile Band, mit einer Menge Talent. Und ich werde sie auf jeden Fall im Auge behalten. Für ihr Werk bekommen sie 5/6 Schädel für den Schädelthron und dürfen sich über eine absolute Kaufempfehlung meinerseits freuen.

Today saw the release of the new album „VAMP“ by Magnolia Park. And damn, this stuff is the kind of nightmare fuel you want in your life — in the best way possible. Brutal metalcore collides with punk and hip-hop. It’s not something you need to understand — but something you absolutely should enjoy and dive into with an open mind. Let’s take a look at the magic this Orlando-based quintet has cooked up.

Pain says hello

„PAIN“ kicks off the album with a full blast of hard metal — a slightly more relaxed take on metalcore, but still intense. One thing’s for sure: your ears won’t be hurting. The vocals are spot-on and the instrumentals are tight and well-produced. „SHADOW TALK“ tones things down a bit — as much as this band ever can — and gives a nice contrast. „CULT“ keeps the momentum going and fits perfectly into the sonic firestorm flying at you. Then comes „THE SCREAMS„, where it’s not just about the screams themselves, but the lyrical themes of screaming. Musically a bit calmer and less “core” than the opening tracks, but still fits like a glove.

„WORSHIP feat. Plvtinum and Vana“
Sounds like a crime against grammar — and plays with distortion, a more mellow metal style, and modern pop influences. Underneath the hazy surface, though, it’s still high-quality metal. „SHALLOW“ continues in that style, acting as another puzzle piece that expands the album’s mosaic. Things get really epic with „OMEN“ — a personal highlight for me. Dark, metal, killer vocals, and electronic elements that boost the already amazing instrumentals. „WASTED“ and „CRAVE feat. PINKNOISE“ then ease us toward the end, once again showing why Magnolia Park deserves all the hype. And finally, „REASONS“ paves a dark road into the grand finale: „OPHELIA„.

Conclusion:

Magnolia Park is just a damn awesome band with tons of talent. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on them. For this masterpiece, they earn 5 out of 6 skulls for the Skull Throne and a full-on purchase recommendation from me.
